Pay Per Click (PPC) / AKA Adwords
What is PPC ?
PPC stands for pay per click. Companies such as Google have become worth billions thanks to PPC.
In comparison to SEO (Search Engine Optimization) where time and effort are needed to arrive on Google’s first page, PPC gives you instant visibility. If you wanted the search term Red Cars be number one on Google, using PPC, you would acquire a free Google Adwords account and tell Google that you want to be number one for Red Cars.
What’s the catch?
The Adwords Account is free but visibility – being number one for Red Cars – costs money. The charge is based on Pay Per Click modes.
Google does a number of things to help set up an ad. It will ask for your ad budget. Based on that it will recommend a cost it considers reasonable for attaining visibility for the search term you’ve chosen. You can pick the time when and area where your ad will be visible in addition to a number of other factors that affect ad visibility.
Once the ad is visible, each time someone clicks on it, you are charged the sum you’ve agreed to pay. When your daily budget has been reached, you lose visibility — you are removed from the search engine page.
If you are going to use the PPC model, it is essential to make sure that your search term research and marketing are very specific.
